Hole 1
PAR 4 1 260 YDS

For many, the 1st at Carnalea isn’t just a golf hole — it’s a right of passage. Locals know it’s claimed more bogeys than its yardage suggests, with winds off Belfast Lough often swirling deceptively around the green.

Hole 2
PAR 4 2 355 YDS

A blind tee shot sets the stage for this strategically crafted hole, where smart positioning is essential. Favouring the right angle and navigating the natural slopes will reward precision, making every shot a calculated challenge from tee to green.

Hole 3
PAR 3 3 191 YDS

What makes this hole truly memorable is its power to reveal doubt. On calm days it seems conquerable, but when coastal winds rise, even experienced players second-guess their club, turning confidence into caution with each step toward the green.

Hole 4
PAR 4 4 529 YDS

This par 5 tempts bold players with its wide fairway but punishes reckless choices near the green. While the urge to attack is strong, those who lay up wisely and prioritise position are often rewarded with more consistent, lower scores.

Hole 5
PAR 5 5 404 YDS

A generous fairway off the tee quickly gives way to one of the toughest approaches on the course. The uphill terrain hides distance, often causing players to come up short — a costly error with the steep, unforgiving front slope.

Hole 6
PAR 4 6 358 YDS

From the tee, commitment is key. The blind view and OB left punish hesitation. Even with a strong drive, the downhill approach is deceptive — elevation changes and slope make it difficult to judge distance and choose the right landing zone.

Hole 8
PAR 4 8 427 YDS

The fairway’s natural slope rewards a controlled draw, setting up the best angle into the green. But miss your line and you’ll find trouble left or in the right-side bunkers.

Hole 9
PAR 3 9 123 YDS

Arguably the most iconic hole on the course, this short yet formidable par 3 sits just below the clubhouse and offers breathtaking views—take a moment to enjoy them before taking on one of the most memorable tee shots you’ll face.

Hole 10
PAR 4 10 292 YDS

This short right-to-left dogleg may look inviting, but it still demands careful planning. A well-placed mid-iron off the tee sets up a straightforward short iron into a sharply sloping green.

Hole 11
PAR 3 11 166 YDS

This medium-length par 3 plays gently uphill and demands a confident tee shot to reach the green. The slope to the right of the green can help guide the ball back toward the target, making it a safer miss than left.

Hole 12
PAR 4 12 324 YDS

A demanding dogleg left with out-of-bounds lurking on both sides, this hole rewards precision and course strategy. The ideal tee shot carries or reaches the corner of the dogleg, opening up the best angle for the approach.

Hole 13
PAR 3 13 174 YDS

This par 3 appears generous at first—open views and a clear line to the pin. But the downhill slope distorts depth perception, and aggressive shots risk skipping through. Success here comes from focus, tempo, and trusting your yardage over power.

Hole 14
PAR 4 14 308 YDS

An uphill challenge that rewards strategy off the tee, this hole favours a drive down the left side of the fairway, offering the best angle into a small, narrow green protected by two well-placed bunkers.

Hole 15
PAR 3 15 182 YDS

On a still day, this hole feels inviting—but it rarely stays that way. The wind off the Lough can swirl unpredictably, making club selection a guessing game. It’s a hole where confidence matters as much as accuracy.

Hole 16
PAR 5 16 508 YDS

This hole favours those who can shape the ball with intent. A controlled fade off the tee sets up the ideal position but stray too far and you’ll be fighting uneven lies or flirting with out-of-bounds.

Hole 17
PAR 4 17 374 YDS

At first glance, this hole seems straightforward—but its true challenge lies in knowing where to place your tee shot. Without the right angle, the elevated green becomes blind and far less forgiving.

Hole 18
PAR 5 18 442 YDS

A new and improved par 5 which is a testing finisher. This hole begins with a blind tee shot, where favouring the left side of the fairway is key—the terrain naturally slopes from left to right, and a drive up the left sets up the best angle for the approach.
