6th Hole — 358 Yards, Par 4 (Smelt Hill Bay)

Thread the Dogleg Carefully

This right-to-left dogleg is all about smart positioning. Out-of-bounds runs the entire length of the left side, while the fairway’s pronounced right-to-left slope tends to draw the ball dangerously close to it. With a blind tee shot — and potentially a blind second depending on your distance — finding the centre of the fairway is crucial. From there, you’ll have the best chance to work your way down the hill towards the green.

Miss right and you’ll find the rough; miss left and your path to the green may be blocked entirely. The approach demands precision, with two greenside bunkers and thick rough ready to punish any misjudgement. That said, the slope leading down to the green can sometimes be your ally — use it wisely.

No Room for Doubt

From the tee, it’s all about commitment. With no clear view and the threat of OB lurking left, indecision can be costly. Even after a solid drive, the downhill approach isn’t straightforward — judging your landing zone is tricky with the slope and elevation change. Smart club choice and trust in your swing matter more than brute force.
